Travertine Color Enhancement

Travertine is a naturally porous non-slippery stone. It is an easy choice for pool decks, patios, pool copings, and driveways. If travertine is unpolished, our certified technicians highly recommend it to be sealed or coated. With environmental exposures, travertine gets damaged and loses its lustrous appearance.

Our nanotechnology coating penetrates deep down into the travertine capillaries and occupies a part of the substrate.

The travertine surface turns into hydrophobic that reduces the growth of mold and mildew. Our color enhancing coating escorts color to your travertine and lasts for up to 5 years.

Travertine Color Enhancement

Procedure:

DAY 1

A certified technician visits the premises to check and verify the services required for the travertine surface. Next, the team begins the process to sanitize and clean the debris on the surface. After ensuring the stain and dirt has been removed, pressure washing and soft washing is performed. Water rinsing takes away detergents and/or acids, if they were previously applied. Travertine surface is then allowed to dry for 24 hours.

DAY 2

Prior to the application of color enhancing nanotechnology coating, certified technicians replenish any sand lost from cleaning to the travertine joints if travertine is not grouted. Upon completion of sanding and when travertines are dry to the touch, certified technicians begin application of the SP-23E color enhancing nanotechnology coating.

Drying:

Travertine color enhancement normally dries in sunny areas within 2-3 hours but it requires nearly 24-36 hours for curing. Shaded areas, low temperatures, or higher humidity may slow down the drying process. The surface may be kept open to foot traffic in 2-3 hours and to vehicular traffic in 24-36 hours. We recommend all sprinkler systems be turned off during this time to allow proper curing.

Maintenance:

This color enhancement acts as a protectant that layers your travertine with a super hydrophobic coating thereby reducing mold and mildew. Periodic washing with plain water to keep the area clean is recommended. Acids, gasoline, hydraulic fluids, and motor oil spills need to be removed from the surface as soon as possible.
